  • Quick Start Guide

What You’ll Need

To ensure a smooth setup process, make sure you have the following ready:

  • Smartphone: iOS 12 or Android 6.0 (or later).
  • The uHoo App: Download the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Wi-Fi Network: A 2.4 GHz and/or 5 GHz dual-band network. Ensure your network security is set to WPA, WPA2, or WPA3-Personal.
  • Bluetooth: Make sure Bluetooth is switched on on your mobile device to assist with setup.

Step 1: Setting Up Your uHoo Account

  1. Open the uHoo App on your smartphone and tap Sign Up to create a new account.
  2. Enter your details as prompted on the screen.
  3. Check your inbox for an activation email, confirm your account via the provided link, and log in to the app.

Step 2: Powering and Connecting Your uHoo Caeli

  1. Plug in your device: Connect your uHoo Caeli to a power outlet using the provided USB-C cable and adapter.
  2. Add device in the app: Open the uHoo App and tap Setup My First uHoo.
  3. Configure Wi-Fi: Your phone will use Bluetooth to establish a fast connection. Follow the on-screen instructions to pick your network and enter your Wi-Fi password.

During this process, the RGB LED status indicator at the base of your Caeli will guide you:

  • Solid Blue: Setup mode.
  • Blinking Green: Connecting to the Wi-Fi.
  • Solid Green: Successfully connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Solid Purple: Downloading a software update.
  • Blinking Purple: Applying a software update.

Step 3: Finding the Perfect Spot for Your Device

To get the most consistent and accurate data about your environment, proper placement is key:

  • Choose the right room: Place Caeli indoors in the room where you spend the most time.
  • Mind the height: Position the monitor on a stable surface at a height between 0.9 and 1.8 meters (3 to 6 feet)above the floor to properly reflect your breathing zone.
  • Provide breathing room: Leave at least 5 to 10 centimeters (2 to 4 inches) of open clearance around the device so airflow isn’t obstructed.
  • Avoid air disturbances: Keep your Caeli away from direct sunlight, areas of high humidity, and direct air currents from air conditioners, heaters, fans, or open windows, as these can distort sensor readings.

Step 4: Sensor Warm-Up & Calibration

Once your uHoo Caeli is online, its advanced sensors need a brief period to warm up and stabilize:

  • VOC, NO2, and Ozone sensors: Take about 24 hours to warm up.
  • CO2 sensor: Takes 48 hours of continuous use to stabilize.

⚠️ Note: If power or Wi-Fi is interrupted, the warm-up cycle will restart. Readings may fluctuate during this initial calibration phase, but they will normalize automatically. Over time, your Caeli will auto-calibrate on its own to maintain peak accuracy without requiring manual adjustments.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you encounter any issues during setup, try these quick fixes:

  • Can’t connect to Wi-Fi? Ensure you are entering the correct Wi-Fi password and that your router supports 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz frequencies with WPA/WPA2/WPA3 security.
  • App can’t detect the Caeli? Double-check that your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on. You can reset and retry the connection process as many times as needed.
  • Flashing Yellow LED? This indicates a system error. If you see this, please reach out to the support team at support@getuhoo.com for assistance.
