To fulfill its energy efficiency and environmental conservation objectives, Pi Energy, Inc., an affiliate of First Philippine Holdings (FPH) and a Lopez-led energy solutions provider, announces its partnership with uHoo, a Filipino-founded climate tech scale-up that focuses on developing indoor environmental monitoring technology for homes and businesses. This partnership focuses on contributing to a fully-decarbonized and a more sustainable world by utilizing indoor air quality monitoring and management solutions in the built environment to enhance people’s health and well-being while simultaneously reducing energy consumption and decarbonizing building operations.
The collaboration was officially inked in December 2021 between the Pi Energy Vice President, Ariel Villasenor and uHoo Limited CEO and Co-Founder, Dustin Jefferson S. Onghanseng.
“Achieving a decarbonized and regenerative future cannot be done in isolation, but through the joint efforts of organizations at the forefront of the battle. On behalf of Pi Energy, we warmly welcome this sustainability partnership with uHoo.
We believe in the power of information and how it paves the way for optimizations for customers. The addition of a distinguished air quality monitoring system within our ecosystem of solutions further enhances our capability of transforming our client’s operations not only through proper use of electricity but also through maintaining a conducive environment safe for their management and employees.
Together, we will embark on a collaborative journey of delivering unified solutions addressing various needs of business” Pi Energy Vice President Ariel Villasenor said.
Ensuring health and safety by maintaining better air quality
Through the combination of uHoo and Pi Energy’s technology, built environments will be able to monitor and take control, in real-time, of at least 13 different factors that affect indoor environmental quality while simultaneously reducing energy consumption. This includes temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, air pressure, particles of various sizes (PM1, PM2.5, PM4 and PM10), various types of airborne chemicals (VOCs, carbon monoxide and formaldehyde), light and noise. This lets facility managers and occupants become more proactive in keeping a healthier environment for its occupants. The uHoo Virus Index also provides insights to lower the risk of the coronavirus surviving and spreading in the workplace .
Journey to a net-zero economy
The two companies’ deep expertise intends to support the goal of having a net-zero economy. Through the data provided by the uHoo Aura and the uHoo Business Dashboard, businesses can easily detect which area of their building consumes excessive amounts of energy. Being able to identify these areas can help reduce operational costs, optimize energy use and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, resulting in a healthier facility not only for the business and for the people but also for the planet.
“We are excited about our partnership with Pi Energy. The unique benefits offered by our combined solutions are guaranteed to deliver an excellent and unmatched proposition on enhancing health and well-being, reducing energy consumption, sustainability and ESG tracking and reporting across buildings, schools, hospitals and various establishments.” uHoo CEO and Co-Founder, Dustin Jefferson S. Onghanseng stated.
uHoo, a Filipino-founded tech scale up that delivers smart innovations which are used by government bodies, homes and private organizations in 40+ countries. It is on a mission to make clean, breathable air accessible for all. uHoo believes that raising awareness on the importance of indoor air pollution and empowering people to manage the air they breathe helps create a healthier and more livable environment for everyone today and for the future generations.
