Pomodoro Technique
This method involves breaking up your workflow into 25-minute intervals with 5-minute breaks in between, and a longer break of at least 15 minutes after four sessions. People often use a physical timer or a web or mobile app (such as Pomofocus, Study With Me, and Session) that counts down the minutes and rings an alarm when you’re ready to move on to a break or the next session. Time Blocking
This personal time management technique involves you dividing your day into specific time blocks allocated for different tasks or activities.
An example of time blocking is scheduling 8:30 to 9:30 AM every day for answering emails, 9:30 to 10:30 AM every day for focused work on Project A, and strict set lunch times at 12 NN to 1 PM.
This is much better than jumping from task to task every hour and it allows you to properly visualize how long it takes for you to complete a set of responsibilities.
It’s recommended that you do this either the night before or in the morning right before you start working.
Eat the Frog
No frogs are harmed in this method! What this strategy requires is that you tackle your most challenging or dreaded task first thing in the morning. By doing so, you’ll immediately feel a sense of accomplishment and have more motivation to conquer the rest of the day!
Eisenhower Matrix
This method involves categorizing tasks based on urgency and importance. Put your tasks into four boxes: things you’ll do first, things you’ll do later, things you’ll delegate, and tasks you’ll delete. This ensures that the most important to-dos actually get done.
